Eggs laid in a metal gutter on the 33rd level. No eggs hatched due to water and cold conditions.

CNR offices installed the first nest box in January. First successful breeding or peregrines recorded in Melbourne.

New nest box installed. Banded three chicks for the first time. One chick died in December 1994 when flew into window and fell 30 storeys to the pavement.

Banded both adults and all chicks.

One chick fledged early and was taken to Healesville Sanctuary and released in June 1995. One chick trapped and killed by pigeon fancier, June 1995.

Both adults wearing leg bands applied in 1994 returned to breed again.  All four chicks banded 9 October 1995.  Early December 1995 three chicks regularly seen with both adults in Melbourne CBD.  One female chick found 9 January 1996 at Deer Park drowning in a dam and was taken to a Wildlife Shelter. The chick appeared to have been attacked by another Peregrine.  This chick was dried off, fed for one week and successfully released at the point of capture.

4 eggs laid in early August. 4 chicks banded 4 Oct 1996.

Adult male found dead 24 Oct 1996, hit overhead wires at Spencer St rail yards. One female chick was found in Abbotsford 25 Nov 1996, believed starved to death.  One female chick found long dead on top of 356 Collins St, 7 March 97.  Possibly hit window late in 1996.

The female disappeared from the Optus Centre in July. One leg of the female was posted to Healesville Sanctuary

Kestrels had bred in 1997 and no activity by Peregrines was observed at the Optus Centre.

A pair of Peregrines was observed for six months at the Optus Centre.  The female was only one year old and prepared a scrape in the nest box but failed to lay any eggs. The female is not banded nor is the male.

Two eggs laid mid September.  The female was born in 1997 in a nest box we had installed on a quarry cliff.  A second female came in and killed our bird, took over the incubation of the eggs.  However, the eggs failed to hatch.

Four eggs have been laid and are due to hatch in mid October.  Both adults are unbanded but will be banded during September 2001.
